Section 26-36. Requirements of the diving equipment

The employer shall ensure that the diving equipment to be used is designed and arranged with sufficient durability and functionality to be capable of protecting the employees from harm to life and health during the use of the equipment, including accidents, strain injuries and exposure that may cause harm to health in the short or long run.
All equipment worn by the diver shall be in accordance with applicable international or European standards, or national standards where they exist.
The employer shall assess the risks and implement necessary measures to ensure that diving equipment placed at the disposal of employees is suitable for the diving operation and fit for purpose.
It shall be possible to use the diving equipment without any risk of harm to the life or health of the person performing the diving operation.
