Section 3-15. Emergency response plans for emergencies arising during work with chemicals

Based on the risk assessment, the employer must assess whether accidents, injuries or emergencies can occur due to the presence of hazardous chemicals in the workplace. If such incidents can occur, the employer shall prepare an emergency response plan for dealing with such accidents, injuries and emergencies.
The emergency response plan shall be made known and be available to the employees, safety representatives and external rescue and emergency services as applicable.
Exercises shall be conducted regularly in accordance with the emergency response plan.
Should an accident, injury or emergency occur, the emergency response plan shall be implemented, and the employees notified immediately. Only the employees who are to carry out the repair work and other necessary work shall be granted access to the affected area. The employees shall be equipped with necessary personal protective equipment.
External rescue and emergency services shall be informed about the specific risks that can arise.
