Section 3-20. Medical examination of employees who may be exposed to hazardous chemicals

The employer must ensure that the employee is given a proper medical examination if he or she may be exposed to hazardous chemicals in such a way that it might damage the person's health.
Appropriate medical examinations shall be able to ascertain any disease or health effect of the chemicals in question and provide the basis for preventive measures in the undertaking or other measures that can reduce the risk of harm to the employee's health.
The medical examination shall be carried out before the employee starts working with hazardous chemicals and at regular intervals thereafter. The medical practitioner shall decide the frequency and content of examinations based on the type, level and duration of the exposure, and based on the employee's health condition.
The employee shall be informed about the requirement for a medical examination before being assigned the work.
