Section 2-1. General provisions

The work equipment shall be designed so that it can be transported, arranged, used and maintained without a risk of harm to life or health, and without exposing employees to adverse strain. If necessary, the work equipment shall be equipped with special protective devices.

Where necessary in order to meet the requirements for safety in the first paragraph, the instructions for use must provide clear instructions on how the work equipment can be transported, arranged, used and maintained without a risk of harm to life or health; see Section 2-26.
